@  jorgeaam : (07 October 2015 - 08:47 PM) Guys we need 1 more owner for the Red94 fantasy league, if interested please comment on the post in the fantasy basketball thread
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 06:50 PM) Kobe ranked one spot higher than Ariza? Is this based on legacy or...??
@  slick shoes : (07 October 2015 - 04:13 PM) It was hard to keep up with both the Astros and Rockets at the same time. Should be interesting on Thursday with the Texans and Astros on simultaneously.
@  Mario Peña : (07 October 2015 - 04:09 PM) It was fun to have the Rockets on last night! Right now I'm watching the Celtics versus Milan and Alessandro Gentile is impressive.
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Well, thinking twice about it, I'd rather have him score less and have the team as a whole do better. Lawson should take a lot of his load off
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 07:47 PM) Loving that, hope he hits 30 PPG this year
@  thejohnnygold : (06 October 2015 - 06:15 PM) Someone is feeling confident :) : LINK
@  jorgeaam : (06 October 2015 - 05:54 PM) 10 Teams done, will need 2 more
@  Mario Peña : (06 October 2015 - 02:35 PM) Alright guys, if anyone is interested in joining the Red94 fantasy basketball league we could use one more player to get us to 10 teams (or three to get us to 12 teams). Just check the thread in the Fantasy Basketball forum. Thanks!
@  thejohnnygold : (05 October 2015 - 06:23 PM) I use leaguepass here in Austin with no problems...
@  skip 2 my lou : (05 October 2015 - 03:14 PM) Hey fellas, I'm a rocket fan but I live in the heart of Dallas. Does anybody know if I buy NBA Leaguepass if it's too close to be subject to blackouts?
@  Losthief : (02 October 2015 - 02:24 AM) tks jg
@  thejohnnygold : (29 September 2015 - 05:16 AM) FYI, it was media day today. Interviews are up at NBA.com
@  slick shoes : (23 September 2015 - 06:37 PM) kind of late in the day but NBATV is broadcasting classis Rockets games all day today.
@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.

@  jorgeaam : (15 September 2015 - 08:30 PM) So to celebrate his new contract, Montrezl Harrell saved someone's life on monday
@  thejohnnygold : (14 September 2015 - 04:36 PM) A good article from Blinebury talking about when Hakeem and Moses used to play in the park. LINK
@  rockets best... : (14 September 2015 - 02:29 AM) I agree totally. I got to watch his Rocket days and the man was a hell of a player. BIG MO R.I.P.

...Points/Game.......................Reg.................Season...................PO..................................................................................
Dallas.......................................105.2...........................110.........+4.8...................................................................................
**Houston.................................103.8..........................108.2.......+4.4....................................................................................
Pels...........................................99.4............................100.8......+1.4..................................................................................
**Clips......................................106.7...........................107.8.......+1.1...................................................................................
Spurs.......................................103.2............................103.4.......+0.2....................................................................................
Warriors...................................110...............................103.3.......-6.7.....................................................................................

Wiz are only Eastern team in PO's to have over 100/PO game. From 98.5 in reg season to 101.2 in the PO's.

Stats don't mean much, but interesting to see the two teams most "Hack-A-Player(s)" had increases in points. **Houston and Clips. I'm of the train of thought that if the player makes 50% of their FT's during the game.....the Hack-a-Player tactic backfires. Jordan shot 40% FT (reg) and 43% FT (PO). Josh shot 52% FT with the Rockets (reg) and 43% FT (PO). Josh shot near 70% FT line in his early seasons of his career. If he shot that....it's a no-brainier to retain him. Unfortunately things are not always so easy. Stats per BasketballReference.com

I'd take those stats with a grain of salt... I mean we played the Mavs, Clippers, and Warriors, arguably the three of the fastest paced teams in the playoffs. I'm sure that had something to do with our supposed offensive spike. Though I do agree that we left a lot of points on the board with missed free throws.

Yes the stats can be taken with a grain of salt. You can throw in some overtime games in that small sample size as well. Keep in mind in the playoffs teams normally force a half court game and take away fast break points. Teams normally score fewer points in the playoffs. Vs the Mavs we put JSmoove at the FT line, while they doubled Harden to force the ball out of his hands, where he created lobs or 3 point opportunities for others. It worked some in the early games vs the Clips as well. But then teams adapted by quickly fouling him or wrapping him up......to put him on the FT line. We adjusted by putting the Jet in that same position. You can't win a championship with two piss poor FT shooters that are main guys of your rotation.just my opinion.....you are entitled to yours.

I would have to go team by team to see which teams scored more in the playoffs vs regular season.....out of curiosity.

Good luck JSmoove. I loved the acquisition for the Rockets last year when things did not work out with Detroit. Thank you for trying to stay away from the 15'+ jump shot (mid-range). May you have great success while with the Clips (except vs the Rockets). I don't blame you for feeling like you may not get enough playing time. Too many SF's/PF's at the moment. The Rockets will be ok. If McHale is correct and every Rocket improves 10 to 15%.....then the Rockets will see you possibly in the playoffs. May the best team win. Don't hold back. Because the Rockets won't. Go ROCKETS!!

Yes, just looked it up on BasketballReference.com. Rockets scored 103.8 points/gm in the regular season, and 108.2 /gm in the 17 playoff games.
So the Hack-A-Player tactic meant to decrease the Rockets flow and pace which in turn decrease the offensive output.....may have actually allowed Houston more points per 100 possessions. Could have been more if guys made their FT's.

Just my opinion.....it's hard to win a championship with two below 50% FT shooters. When the Clips fouled our subpar FT shooter; we then fouled Jordan. Playing Monday morning QB.....Rockets were fortunate to play an inferior Dallas squad, followed by a team with an equally important cog to the team that shoots poorly at the FT line ( DeAndre Jordan ). The Spurs use the tactic of Hack-A-Player with success. Last years Spurs worst FT shot at least 70% from the FT line. Where I felt the Rockets could still beat the Spurs half the time despite the fouling tactic. I think the Spurs may have improved from last season with the additions of both LMA and David West. The Rockets can't continue to leave points at the free throw line and expect to be successful. Rockets averaged 103 points in the regular season.....but I would venture to say that the Rockets increased their offensive output in the playoffs, despite the Hack-A-Player tactic employed by Dallas and the Clips. The Rockets can further help themselves with better FT shooters......just my opinion.
