I can definitely see the Rockets coming out of the West. Terry, Brewer and Smith (!) could make the difference. I do wonder whether Harden is gassed after playing the most minutes in the league. Time will tell.

 

But - he didn't have to play a lot of minutes in Game 2. If we can continue on this trajectory (and close out the series early), we should be well rested for the Clips or Spurs.

That's a good point. With the Mavs on self-destruct (you never want to count on a short series but odds look good), Harden could get 5-7 days to rest. That could be critical in the next series. Meanwhile, Dwight being injured much of the regular season could turn out to be a real blessing - he looks reinvigorated. And, by the way, did you watch the game tonight were Rose went for 48 minutes? I'm a firm believer in fresh legs for the playoffs.

The great thing is that Corey Brewer give the Rockets a capable wing while Harden rests. He could be instrumental in the next round, on both ends of the court.
