Excuse me? Are you insinuating that I was being racist by merely trying to define the difference between making a racial comment and making a racist comment? Are you maybe making assumptions about me that you should not be making?

OK, before this escalates any further let's just drop the racism stuff altogether. It should never have come up, it has no bearing on this topic, and isn't going to lead anywhere productive. Nobody is straying close to it. If people feel like a comment is inappropriate/racist in nature please contact the moderating staff and we will handle it. Let's all make an effort to keep these boards focused on basketball talk.
Besides, Sly & The Family Stone already taught us everything we need to know about race relations...

Sorry about that JG.
I feel like my reply to rocketrick's post about what's racial vs. racist was a useful and relevant post. I think that that distinction is a very important one and something worth being defined, especially because I think it's apparent that at least some of the conflict in discussions about Lin have an aspect of underlying tension about race. Racial issues can be very sensitive and we need to be careful about how we discuss them. And one thing that should NOT be done is throw the word "racist" around irresponsibly and inaccurately as rocketrick did. And I was trying to point that out.
However, I should not have replied to lin fan's baiting comment. That was dumb of me. I'm realizing more and more that a lot of the more inflammatory comments, whether it's in criticizing or defending Lin, are done to bait people into arguments. And I shouldn't have fallen into that here especially given the sensitive nature of the topic.
I apologize, and I won't bring this up again. Even if someone misuses the word "racist" in the future, I will not comment. I've said my piece already.

Nothing is wrong we are on a 5 game winning streak and in a few hours it will be 6! During this streak we have played exceptional
