@  cointurtlemoose : (25 March 2015 - 04:23 AM) (cont.) - here's where Prigioni's presence is huge...
@  cointurtlemoose : (25 March 2015 - 04:22 AM) Losing Bev is not fun, but here's where Prigioni
@  Losthief : (25 March 2015 - 03:51 AM) terry, priogoni, johnson interesting mash of talents: shooting, passing/creating, defense. Need me a blender!
@  Losthief : (25 March 2015 - 03:49 AM) nick johnson > jordan farmar?
@  Losthief : (25 March 2015 - 03:44 AM) that's not good....
@  jorgeaam : (25 March 2015 - 03:09 AM) https://twitter.com/...557355085115392
@  jorgeaam : (25 March 2015 - 03:07 AM) Wow, Bev might be out for the season
@  thejohnnygold : (24 March 2015 - 06:44 PM) FYI, Josh Smith over the last 22 games is shooting 36% from deep and D-Mo is shooting 41% in that same span. Heck, D-Mo has shot 40% from deep since Dec 1st. Dirk 2.0!!!! :)
@  Losthief : (24 March 2015 - 04:14 AM) p.s. The way i felt about the DMO 3 at the end of quarter versus prior years is astounding...
@  Losthief : (24 March 2015 - 03:54 AM) yeah...but you could tell he was hurting...hope he doesn't make it worse. By the way, did kostas break his ankle? its been like at least a month now.
@  Mario Peña : (24 March 2015 - 01:57 AM) What do I know? Good thing Smith taped up that ankle and took the court.
@  Cooper : (24 March 2015 - 01:38 AM) nice bounce back game for Harden
@  cointurtlemoose : (24 March 2015 - 01:23 AM) J3SH SM3TH
@  Mario Peña : (23 March 2015 - 07:29 PM) Okay so I originally thought it was good news but now I'm thinking Josh should let it heal but what do I know not much. Here's the link from Creech: http://blog.chron.co...ts-injury-list/
@  Losthief : (23 March 2015 - 06:07 PM) Smith is probable for tonight, went through shootaround.
@  Mario Peña : (23 March 2015 - 04:08 PM) No Paul George tonight so there's that and Smith looks out for the Rockets. If Howard and Smith can return Wednesday it would be huge for the Rockets.
@  SadLakerFan : (23 March 2015 - 01:52 AM) Lakers can significantly improve their chances of retaining their 1st rd pick with a loss tonight to 76ers. 76ers improve their chances of getting that pick with a loss.
@  jorgeaam : (22 March 2015 - 06:02 PM) Dwight Howard (knee) has been upgraded to doubtful for Monday's game vs. the Pacers.
@  08huangj : (21 March 2015 - 05:25 AM) Paul George returning in a matter of days.
@  JY86er : (21 March 2015 - 03:37 AM) Re-evaulated in a week. Standard medical timetable for that injury.

Pretty cool chart from fivethirtyeight.com about the nba and winning percentage for a game by point in the game:

http://fivethirtyeig...oss-every-game/

(click for interactive chart)

(you can select rockets (or any team) from the drop down menu to highlight them).

Lines up with my personal observations of good play following half-time (sign of good coaching adjustments?) and with the lack of execution in the 4th quarter at times, although the spike at the very end of games I think has to do with a certain bearded fella. Also we rest harden at the beginning/middle of the 4th most games so a drop off there isn't too surprising if still a bit disappointing.

(if you don't want to click link and want to look around the black thing, rockets are the 3rd line (1st red one) in the 3rd/4th quarter).

p.s. preemptively im aware of the fact clicking it doesn't load the interactive version (cause i took the code off the page info) but the interactive one is available via the link above.

    Very fun chart!

The Bulls and Suns have interesting lines... Probably makes them pretty fun teams to watch. For the first three quarters, you can't tell who has the upper hand, until they start to pull away in the fourth, usually to win... except for the Suns. That downward spike for them at the end is all a Suns fan sees when they look at this chart, I presume.

The Heat's line, on the other hand, suggests they are even harder to watch. I don't watch too many games played by these teams to know if it matches the eye test.

You know what scares me about this chart? If we play Portland or Memphis in the 1st round, they peak in the 4th quarter when we slump. Dallas has a similar trend as well.

Something else that is interesting - the Warriors and Hawks look downright scary, but the Cavaliers do not.

It'll be interesting to see how these change if we just look at the playoffs.
