Great read. I agree on Iggy, the mon-star, but you have offended me with your opinion of Aaron Brooks. I'm not mad about your because I understand where your doubt comes from. Most people have forgotten about this but die hard fans never will... the Steve Franchise era! The all offense, some defense, technical foul machine, no jump shot having, kicking the ball into upper deck waste of several of my teenage years. I say give Brooks 5 years to develop into a more solid player. What other person on our roster led the NCAA in scoring? There has to be something there. I will agree that his occasional half court 3 pointers are a little over the top and unnecessary but over all he's the most pure shooter on the team. That's giving him the benefit of the doubt since he's in a league of giants and is shooting under pressure 100% of the game. Sure Scola is great at open jumpers but put Deron Williams in his hip pocket for 48 min. Rocket fans DO NOT FEAR THE OFFENSE MINDED POINT GUARD, STEVE FRANCIS HAS RETIRED. Part of the problem with every Houston sports team is that we don't develop talent. We want the quick fix now. Hakeem was the LAST talent we really stuck by, there were some down years with Hakeem as well. But, Hakeem had a work ethic, eye for offense, quick feet, and wanted it. Similar to the young Aaron Brooks. I'm making my prediction now... NBA CHAMPS 2014! Our young, fast, athletic core that D has put together has so much potential. The dream team was young, fast, and athletic so we have something to build on. ROCKET FAN FOR LIFE.... B

Loved the column!

I'm not so down on Iggy. In some way, he's a better fit than Melo: superb defender, excellent rebounder, excellent passer. His problem in Philly was the same problem that Ariza had in Houston the first half of last year: he can't really generate offense on his own, but that's what his team needs him to do. Put him on the team where he is the fourth or fifth option, and I'd bet he'd thrive. I wouldn't mind the big contract so much, but then again its Les Alexander's money and not my own.

I whole-heartedly agree about Iguodola. He's a fantastic talent but just not for the price (http://hoopshype.com/salaries/philadelphia.htm), especially with the rumblings of a owner-centric CBA balefully looming on the horizon. How about a little populism NBA?

Yep that last story is classic...I think artest talked about that on jimmy kimmel. I think he was also on kimmel in his underwear.

Re. Iguodala, I didn't see anything in that article indicating something changed in the Sixers offering of him. I'm sure they are, but I mean there's nothing in there about anything coming out of the Sixers organization. Either way, I don't personally want Iguodala, just because of his salary. I mean, he'd be a strictly better version of Artest (except maybe spot up 3pt shooting), but meh. I like the team as is, paying a constant stream of cheap and overproductive players biding our time for a superstar.

Jacob- Welcome aboard! I love the new daily, please keep up the great work.

re- Iggy - I enjoyed the article...I know the pendelum has swung to Anthony, but I think Iggy would be a great piece for the Rockets, and available for a nice price tag. Of course we have to swing for the fences to get a star like Anthony, but part of me also like the Rockets as a team of hard working role players, and I think Iggy would fit in well with the culture. If the pre-season ends without Anthony on board, Iggy would be a nice consolation prize.
