During a Monday night game at Little Caesars Arena, Anthony Davis delivered an impressive performance with 37 points and nine rebounds, despite the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Detroit Pistons. This game highlighted his strong performance in the 2024-25 season. <\/p>\n

However, the game also saw Davis experiencing trouble with his left ankle, which seemed to exacerbate as he showed signs of distress on the court, and was observed limping during the final moments of the fourth quarter. <\/p>\n

Postgame, when LeBron James was questioned about how the team might cope without Davis if his injury sidelines him, James gave a vague response. At the same time, Davis was overheard in the background during an update on his condition, as captured in a video by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. <\/p>\n

Shortly after the inquiry about Davis being potentially sidelined, he was heard affirming, “He’s not out.” <\/p>\n

In a more detailed discussion later, Davis revealed that he has been managing the ankle issue since the summer, following his and James’ gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. <\/p>\n

“I’m not sure yet… I need to speak with my trainer to understand the situation fully,” Davis explained. “It’s been a persistent issue that I’ve been trying to handle, especially before games just to be able to play. Unfortunately, I landed badly on it tonight. We’ll see how it goes.” <\/p>\n

Based on Davis’s statements, it seems he may still have a chance to play despite the ankle problems, given his current season averages of 32.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game over seven games. Davis, familiar with playing through injuries, will have his condition closely monitored ahead of Wednesday’s matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies. <\/p>\n
