much-anticipated showdown between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks at TD Garden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_u6f1cof0t\">The Celtics will start the evening&#8217;s festivities by celebrating their championship victory with a ring ceremony and the unveiling of their 18th championship banner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_j52tk8o2g\">As the current NBA champions, the Celtics must quickly switch gears to face a formidable Knicks team, which has strengthened its roster through the key offseason acquisitions of Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_y18iapl30\">In the view of this writer, the Knicks pose the most significant challenge to the Celtics from outside their team.<\/p>\n<div class=\"style_120ff32\">\n<figure data-id=\"_34t5zd987\" class=\"base_1ifrhav\" data-mm-type=\"image\"><canvas class=\"style_1e28o3x-o_O-initial_9vayoh\"><\/canvas><picture class=\"base_1emrqjj-o_O-initial_fzbddc-o_O-style_1a1csmw\"><source><\/source><source><\/source><source><\/source><\/picture><noscript><picture class=\"base_1emrqjj\"><source  media=\"(max-width: 719px)\"><\/source><source  media=\"(max-width: 1079px)\"><\/source><source  media=\"(min-width: 1080px)\"><\/source><\/picture><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<div class=\"wrapper_brpv6a\"><figcaption data-mm-id=\"_jlhzxp6nc\">Regrettably for the Knicks, they are beginning the season with a growing list of injured players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_ev037wici\">After dislocating his right shoulder, Landry Shamet has been released by the Knicks, who plan to re-sign him once he&#8217;s fully recovered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_6ilj2tqoh\">Additionally, center Precious Achiuwa is currently sidelined with a strained left hamstring and is expected to be re-evaluated in two to four weeks, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_0dvqqu4ki\">Mitchell Robinson, another key player for New York, is still recovering from foot surgery he underwent in May and won&#8217;t be available for the season&#8217;s start.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_pmnvlqpnb\">Robinson previously had an operation in December to treat a stress fracture in the same foot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_8wxa7oszs\">The Knicks are aiming for a December or January comeback for Robinson, though this will depend on the progress of his rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_u1xh5rcnw\">In the meantime, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jericho Sims will be New York&#8217;s primary centers for the season opener against the Celtics and until Achiuwa returns from his
