So while the NFL and NBC\/Peacock want to boast about the strong viewership for the Eagles-Packers Week 1 game, they prefer not to include it in their season ratings because the 14.2 million from the season’s opener can’t stack up against any of the games that air on broadcast television.<\/p>\n

Thank you to the NFL for validating everything stated in this column.<\/p>\n

The bottom line is that EVERY game should be considered when calculating an average rating for the games. Moreover, it’s absurd that the NFL feels the need to manipulate the figures given their already enormous ratings, whether you include the Eagles-Packers game or not.<\/p>\n
