The player option Harden declined was set at $36.35 million for the 2025-26 season. Many anticipated this move from Harden, who&#8217;s secured a contract that includes a player option for the second year and has partial guarantees, Charania noted.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_mgiqtaysv\">This fall will mark Harden&#8217;s third season with the Clippers. Last summer, he inked a two-year deal valued at $70 million. This new contract marks a significant increase, with Harden set to earn approximately $40.75 million each year, up from the $35 million he earned last season.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_3kkwy05p1\">During the previous season, Harden averaged 22.8 points per game\u2014his highest scoring average since the 2020-21 season with the Brooklyn Nets\u2014along with 5.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists across 79 games.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_nbde5t58y\">In the Clippers&#8217; first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets in May, Harden
