The Golden State Warriors faced a significant setback when prominent point guard Steph Curry was forced to leave Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals due to a hamstring injury. Despite Curry’s exit, the Warriors clinched a victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unfortunately, Curry sustained a Grade 1 hamstring strain and is ruled out for at least a week.<\/p>\n

In Curry’s absence, the Warriors will miss his play in at least the next three games. However, Draymond Green remains optimistic. After securing the win on Tuesday against the Timberwolves, Green expressed confidence in Jimmy Butler, a seasoned player known for his ability to carry teams through the postseason, to help keep their championship aspirations alive.<\/p>\n

“Jimmy has shown what he’s capable of,” Green remarked to the media on Tuesday. “He has led teams to the Finals twice. There\u2019s no need for panic. We’ll adapt. Our coaching staff is the finest in the league, and they’ll guide us on how to adjust our offense without Steph. We trust our team to continue making plays and shots, and with Jimmy, we have someone who can consistently deliver. We\u2019re in good hands,” he added.<\/p>\n

Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr also emphasized the team’s defensive capabilities, which played a crucial role in their recent win. He expressed confidence in their defensive strategy moving forward without Curry.<\/p>\n

“We believe we have the top defense in the league,” Kerr stated on Wednesday. “This has been evident in the past few months… We’ll lean on our defense to spark our offense,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Historically, the Warriors have a decent track record in the playoffs without Curry, boasting a 9-3 record during the 2016 and 2018 NBA playoffs. This season, they\u2019ve managed a 7-5 record without him, with nine of those games occurring before Butler\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n

While the Warriors can navigate through this series without Curry, his absence undeniably makes the challenge greater.<\/p>\n
