\nDuring a closely contested Tuesday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers faced a significant setback following Doncic’s ejection. Doncic had previously been given a technical foul earlier in the game and received a second one, which seems to have been a result of his remarks aimed at a Thunder fan\u2014who had been featured in a local newspaper\u2014rather than at any game official.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Lakers’ radio commentators, John Ireland and Mychal Thompson, were among the first to publicly discuss the incident. They expressed strong disapproval of the decision.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\n“It’s an absolutely terrible decision by J.T. Orr,” declared Ireland. “It\u2019s unacceptable to eject a star player for interacting with a spectator. This action is utterly indefensible.”\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\n“This is among the poorest officiating I’ve witnessed in my 25 years of broadcasting,” Ireland continued. “I absolutely detest this decision, and I would feel the same if it were made against Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander].”\n<\/p>\n
