\nFew individuals can boast about having outplayed Kevin Durant in a one-on-one basketball game.\n<\/p>\n

\nDurant, who will almost certainly be inducted into the Hall of Fame, likely has a very limited number of people who have defeated him, especially considering none of these are likely non-professionals in recent decades.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nHowever, there is one individual who probably has more victories over Durant than anyone else\u2014his own father.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nFollowing the Phoenix Suns\u2019 123\u2013112 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on a recent Friday night, a journalist prompted Durant to share an anecdote about the last time he lost to his father in basketball\u2014a suggestion that came from his father himself.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI was in the seventh grade,\u201d Durant reminisced with a smile. \u201cI was 11 years old, and we were in the driveway. He won. Right after he made the last basket, I locked him out of the house. That was over twenty years ago.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nMany of us have experienced the frustration of wanting to take our ball and leave after a difficult loss when we were younger, but this becomes tricky when the person who defeated you also lives in the same house. Locking the door was a simple yet effective retaliation.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nIt\u2019s unlikely Durant\u2019s father will secure another win against his son, but the memory of that last victory will be cherished by both for years to come.\n<\/p>\n
