While Luka Doncic playfully speculated that James could potentially score up to 70,000 points, the most unexpected response came from Stephen A. Smith on First Take<\/em> this Wednesday morning. Just a week previously, Smith had criticized James for his comments about negative media coverage, but this time, he shifted to an unexpectedly positive tone.<\/p>\n

“He’s been absolutely phenomenal,” Smith remarked. “Today, although he irritated me immensely last week with his complaints, we must acknowledge his sustained excellence. Even as someone who respects Michael Jordan greatly, I think it\u2019s time we end the debate. LeBron\u2019s greatness is undeniable, and I’m prepared to recognize that. It\u2019s not just about hitting the 50,000 point mark, or how he played last night, or even this month. Watching him perform, with or without teammates like Anthony Davis or Luka, and still being in top form at 40 years old in his 22nd season, is truly remarkable. LeBron deserves all the recognition, and I’m here to give it to him,” added Smith.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s uncertain how long this positive outlook will last, but for now, it seems LeBron has everything he could wish for. Time will tell if the debate between LeBron and Jordan will stay dormant\u2014at least until LeBron retires.<\/p>\n
