In a recent NBA rivalry week showdown, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 118-108 on a Saturday game. Going into the final quarter, the Warriors were down by six points and failed to make a comeback, with their key player Steph Curry failing to score in the second half.<\/p>\n

Following the game, during a press interaction, a journalist began questioning Curry about the Warriors’ record of winning only once in 21 games when trailing after the third quarter. Curry interrupted with a surprised, “What?” before the reporter could finish.<\/p>\n

“Sheesh,” Curry exclaimed. “I wasn’t aware of that.”<\/p>\n

Curry was clearly taken aback by the statistic revealing the team’s struggles in catching up in later stages of their games.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“In some cases, our scoring was just off,” Curry admitted. “Tonight, AD and LeBron essentially dominated the game… There are probably many reasons for our 1-20 record, but it\u2019s definitely something we need to figure out,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This pattern of failing to recover in late-game scenarios is just one of many challenges the Warriors have faced this season. Despite a strong start of 12-3, they’ve slipped to a 22-23 record. Injuries to both Curry and Draymond Green have left the team short on star power, impacting the performance of a team that once dominated, now positioned 11th in the Western Conference.<\/p>\n

This defeat caps a difficult week for the Warriors, who just experienced their biggest home game loss in 40 years against the Boston Celtics on Monday. They lost three out of four games this week but will look to bounce back next Tuesday against the Utah Jazz, the current bottom team in the conference.<\/p>\n
