    The Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion<\/b> brought together the surviving cast members for one emotional night. Ray Romano<\/b> hosted alongside series creator Phil Rosenthal<\/b>, who managed the live taping on a recreated soundstage of the iconic Barone family living room.<\/p>\n

    Why It Took Three Decades for a Reunion<\/h2>\n

    Rosenthal revealed he’d been pushing for a reunion special for 10 years<\/b>. He wanted to celebrate the 20th anniversary<\/b> in 2016<\/b>, but CBS<\/b> wasn’t interested at the time. Same story for the 25th anniversary<\/b> in 2021<\/b>.<\/p>\n

    Everything changed when a new regime arrived at CBS<\/b>. President Amy Reisenbach<\/b> was enthusiastic about bringing the show’s cast back. Rosenthal described her as “absolutely lovely and great,” and she championed the project internally.<\/p>\n

    The timing actually worked out. The Paley Center<\/b> in New York<\/b> had just finished a 30 Years of Everybody Loves Raymond<\/b> exhibit that ran from June to September 2025<\/b>. Romano and Rosenthal initially tried coordinating with that exhibit, but technical reasons prevented it. Then CBS<\/b> offered a slot during Thanksgiving week<\/b> in November<\/b>, and they jumped at the opportunity.<\/p>\n

    Rosenthal<\/b> explained it directly. The show is missing key people who made it special. Doris Roberts<\/b> and Peter Boyle<\/b> passed away since the series ended. Without them, it just wouldn’t be the same show. Plus, Rosenthal noted that reboots rarely work.<\/p>\n

    Romano agreed completely. A revival wouldn’t capture what made the original special. The chemistry, the family dynamic, the parents\u2014it’s all irreplaceable.<\/p>\n
