    What Happened: Pentagon Takes Issue with Film<\/h2>\n

    The Pentagon<\/b> issued an official statement after Netflix<\/b> released the film<\/b> on Friday, Oct. 24<\/b>. The Missile Defense Agency<\/b> obtained from Bloomberg<\/b> specifically challenges one scene. Jared Harris<\/b>, playing the defense secretary, claims current missile defenses<\/b> have only a 50% success rate<\/b>.<\/p>\n

    Gabriel Basso’s character<\/b> later states 61% accuracy<\/b>, based on controlled testing data. However, the MDA<\/b> counters that interceptors have demonstrated 100% accuracy<\/b> in real-world testing for more than a decade<\/b>. The agency disputes the portrayal unfolds from earlier prototypes<\/b>, not current systems.<\/p>\n
