Timberwolves Start Joe Ingles for Heartwarming Reason – Find Out Why!

Minnesota Timberwolves experienced forward Joe Ingles was announced in the starting lineup on Friday night, marking his first start in over three years. Interestingly, it wasn’t just Joe hearing his name echoed throughout the venue.

According to Jon Krawczynski from The Athletic, Ingles’s wife, Renae, along with their three children, have been residing in Orlando throughout the year but spent this week in the Twin Cities. Their son, Jacob, who is on the autism spectrum, experienced his first full NBA game in an arena earlier in the week. Unfortunately, Joe did not get playing time during that game.

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch made sure not to repeat the previous game’s scenario. He selected Ingles to start in the game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. This game marked Joe Ingles’s first start since January 30, 2022, when he was with the Utah Jazz, ensuring that young Jacob could watch his father play.

Indeed, that’s quite touching.

Ingles didn’t manage to score in the six minutes he played during the first quarter, missing all three of his field goal attempts. However, he ended the quarter with a positive plus/minus of +1 as the Wolves led the game 28–22 going into the second quarter.
