When will the final season of Squid Game drop on Netflix this Friday? Fans are eager to find out!

The endgame is near. Squid Game releases its third and final season this Friday, June 27. The acclaimed Korean series will conclude with these last episodes available on Netflix. The story picks up right where season 2 left off, ending on a cliffhanger: Gi-hun’s attempted revolt to end the “Squid Game” was unsuccessful, as he was betrayed by player number one (who is actually the Front Man, the mastermind behind the game). The rebellion is crushed, and Jung-bae, Gi-hun’s best friend, is killed.

Season 3 of Squid Game continues right after these dramatic events, introducing a new set of deadly challenges. The anticipation is high: the sudden end of the previous season left many Netflix subscribers frustrated, feeling that Squid Game had an unfinished vibe. It took six months to find out the outcomes of Gi-hun’s rebellion and how the series would wrap up, giving fans plenty of time to speculate with various theories.

When Can You Watch Season 3 of Squid Game on Netflix?

This Friday, June 27, subscribers will finally see how the most popular series of all time on Netflix concludes. And for those who can’t wait, the good news is that the episodes will be available early, though there’s no need to wake up at dawn to binge-watch the entire season.

The final episodes of Squid Game will be released precisely at 9:01 AM (French time), as is usual for original productions from the red N streaming platform.

No Season 4, But…

We recommend relishing these episodes, as they represent the definitive conclusion of one of Netflix’s most addictive series. There are no plans for a Season 4, and Gi-Hun’s journey is expected to come to an end this Friday. However, it’s conceivable that the Squid Game universe might be further explored by Netflix. A spin-off could potentially emerge, according to statements by creator Hwang Dong-hyuk in an interview with People magazine. While he was not very forthcoming, he hinted that “there’s a chance” for another similar story to be developed.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last January, he also expanded on his ideas: a series about what happened between seasons 1 and 2, or perhaps delving into the backgrounds of recurring characters, like the Front Man or the Recruiter. It remains to be seen if Netflix will green-light these projects, but it’s hard to imagine the platform passing up such potential viewership. Especially considering it wouldn’t be the only Netflix series to expand, as La Casa de Papel led to the Berlin series.
