On Monday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder secured a critical away win against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center, advancing to a 3–1 lead in the Western Conference Finals.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered an outstanding performance worthy of an MVP on the road, scoring 40 points and nearly achieving a triple-double with 10 assists and nine rebounds. Despite facing intense booing from the home crowd, the 26-year-old thrived under the pressure and propelled his team to victory.

Postgame, when questioned about his role as the antagonist during away games, Gilgeous-Alexander shared his thoughts on the experience.

“It’s incredibly enjoyable. It might even be as fun as playing at home. The entire arena is against you, chanting and yelling, and your task is to play basketball and silence them. It definitely makes the game more interesting, and I absolutely love it,” Gilgeous-Alexander commented.

After a subdued performance in Game 3, which was the Thunder’s first road game of the series, Gilgeous-Alexander made a remarkable comeback in Monday’s game, placing the Thunder just one win away from the NBA Finals.

The series will return to the Paycom Center for Game 5, scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 28.
