He’s returned.

Following an eight-game suspension due to a heated incident with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, John Haliburton, father of Tyrese Haliburton, has been cleared to attend Indiana Pacers home games again, starting with Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the New York Knicks on Tuesday, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday.

John Haliburton will be restricted to watching the game from a suite.

The Pacers originally prohibited Haliburton from attending both home and away games starting May 1, following his altercation with Antetokounmpo after Game 5 of the Bucks-Pacers first-round series. The altercation was brief, and Giannis later remarked that despite feeling slighted, they had spoken afterwards and were on good terms. When the prohibition was enforced, Tyrese expressed his understanding of the decision, acknowledging that he did not endorse his father’s actions.

Following the Pacers’ victory in Game 2 of the ECF against the Knicks on Friday, Charles Barkley of Inside the NBA reiterated his call for the lifting of John’s ban. He had voiced the same opinion after the Pacers won Game 1.

“It’s time to let Mr. Haliburton back in the building,” Barkley stated on Wednesday. “[Commissioner Adam Silver], I’m asking you… Hey, my man has served his time. He made a big mistake. But he’s been punished. I’m asking you and the Indiana Pacers to allow Mr. Haliburton back for Games 3 and 4. Listen, he’s paid his dues. It shouldn’t be forever. He’s been punished enough, he won’t make the same mistake again.”

Welcome back, Pops Haliburton.
