Nikola Jokić and Russell Westbrook have become renowned for their ability to consistently deliver impressive statistics. This season marks a new chapter as they collaborate on the Denver Nuggets team.

In a recent game against the Brooklyn Nets, which the Nuggets won with a score of 124-105, both Jokić and Westbrook achieved a triple-double. This remarkable achievement marked the second occasion this season that the duo has managed this feat in the same game, having previously done so on December 30 in Utah. They are the first pair of teammates to record a triple-double twice in the same season.

During Friday’s game, Jokić scored 35 points, dished out 15 assists, and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Westbrook contributed 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. This performance also distinguished them as the first teammates to each record a triple-double with at least 25 points in a single regular-season game.

Denver’s coach, Michael Malone, expressed immense admiration for their achievements post-game.

“You’re watching history, folks,” Malone commented to journalists, referencing the duo’s performance, “This is the History Channel.”

Westbrook holds the NBA record for most career triple-doubles with 202, whereas Jokić is in third place with 145. Jokić, a three-time NBA MVP, is only 37 triple-doubles away from surpassing Oscar Robertson and joining Westbrook in the top two positions for all-time triple-doubles.

The dynamic duo was set to play again on Sunday as the Nuggets, with a record of 22-15, faced the Mavericks in Dallas, who had a slightly better record of 22-16, at 3 p.m. ET.
