Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks definitely regrets a particular moment in the game.

In a nail-biting scenario with the score locked at 113, as the final moments of the game were counting down, Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson paused near the center court logo. Unbeknownst to him, his teammate John Collins was left completely unguarded under the basket, and he seized the moment for a decisive dunk, clinching a 115–113 win for Utah at the Delta Center.

During this crucial play, Doncic was positioned close to the free-throw line, his attention seemingly on the Mavericks’ sideline. By the time he turned to see Collins with the ball by the hoop, it was already too late.

In the aftermath, Doncic appeared visibly stunned as the Mavericks fell two points behind.

“It was a breakdown in communication,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd postgame. “These things happen, and they capitalized fully on it. We need to improve.”

Following the loss, which marked Dallas’s fourth consecutive defeat, NBA fans were less forgiving of Doncic:

Despite scoring a game-high 37 points on 13-of-25 shooting, Doncic’s defensive lapse on that pivotal play was glaringly apparent, leaving the Mavericks struggling to find a win.
