Stephen A. Smith, ESPN’s prominent figure, recently experienced a playful jab from someone with a notably prestigious background: Michelle Obama, the former first lady.

In a recent installment of her podcast IMO, which she hosts alongside her brother Craig Robinson, Mrs. Obama revealed her surprising fondness for reality TV shows. During the conversation, she made a humorous comparison involving Smith, suggesting that watching him on ESPN was akin to viewing a reality TV show.

“Spending an hour on ESPN feels like an episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,'” Obama remarked. “The arguments, the drama—it’s all there. And Stephen A. Smith, he’s really no different from your typical talk show host.”

Matt Rogers, co-host of Las Culturistas and a guest on the podcast, added, “He would make an excellent Real Housewife.”

“Exactly! That’s why I see no difference—it’s all just sociological drama,” Obama continued.

While some people are fans of sports, Obama has a preference for Bravo. No judgments on that front.

However, Smith, known for his outspoken nature, felt compelled to respond when he heard his name mentioned.

“I respectfully disagree and am quite taken aback by your comments,” Smith retorted, before proceeding to criticize former President Barack Obama for his recent political statements.

Should Smith ever decide to pursue a political career, don’t expect an endorsement from the Obamas. Most Americans, like them, would likely prefer to see him on television rather than in a political office.
