Since the holiday season, the Dallas Mavericks have been missing their star player, Luka Doncic.

Doncic suffered a calf injury on Christmas during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves where the Mavericks fell 105–99. In his absence, the team has struggled, managing only 5 wins against 11 losses, and their prospects of reclaiming their Western Conference championship seem bleak.

Nonetheless, a recent update brings some hope for the team’s future. Respected basketball reporter Marc Stein shared that Doncic’s return might be happening sooner than anticipated.

“A month after the injury, there’s growing optimism in Dallas that Doncic could be back in the Mavericks’ lineup before the All-Star break,” Stein reported on a social media platform.

The All-Star break is set to start on February 14, which puts Doncic’s potential return within the next 19 days.

Doncic, who topped the league in scoring last season, has been averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game this season.
