Josh Hart is currently experiencing his best season yet with the New York Knicks, which might place the Villanova alumnus in a position to be considered for his first All-Star selection in his eight years in the NBA.

However, Hart is not keen on receiving an All-Star nomination, and he has a valid reason for his unusual stance.

When Steve Popper from Newsday mentioned he could be an All-Star, Hart humorously dismissed the notion, citing the achievements of his teammates and his preference for using that time as a vacation period.

“An All-Star? Absolutely not,” Hart exclaimed. “They value what I contribute, but as I’ve mentioned, my style of play isn’t about the flash and fame that typically earn such honors. And that suits me fine. I’m here to support my team. I want them to receive the accolades.

“I’m looking forward to feeling the sand between my toes come February.”

Hart indeed has a compelling argument, as he’s setting personal bests in rebounds, assists, steals, and field goal percentage this season. Nevertheless, he prefers not to pursue the accolade.

In keeping with the close bond within the Knicks, Towns has been vocal about Hart deserving an All-Star spot.

“Yes, he should be in the All-Star Game,” Towns insisted. “I want his weekend to be disrupted. Absolutely.”
