Draymond Green recently expressed his intent to not shy away from engaging in verbal jabs with his ex-teammate Klay Thompson during the upcoming game where Green’s Golden State Warriors will face Thompson’s new squad, the Dallas Mavericks, on November 12. Thompson has replied with a sharp retort.
In a discussion with Rachel Nichols, where Green’s bold claim of planning to “run through his chest” in their next encounter was mentioned, Thompson, now a forward for the Mavericks, responded promptly.
“Well, if that happens, I’ll just take two,” Thompson remarked. “I’ll take two free throws. I’m quite resilient, so I believe I’ll manage just fine.”

Thompson appears unconcerned about facing his old team, with whom he achieved four NBA championships over an 11-year period.
Thompson is also well-acquainted with Green’s confrontational style, having been teammates with him for 10 of those years. Green, known for his outspoken nature and sometimes controversial actions on the court, was suspended twice last season due to incidents during games.
