Josh Hart, the forward for the New York Knicks, was penalized $2,000 for a comically exaggerated flop during a game against the Boston Celtics on Sunday, which failed to convince the referees and led to a fine for poor sportsmanship.
Following the imposition of the penalty, Hart humorously commented on the incident on social media.
“No Oscar for me,” he joked on X, previously known as Twitter.

During the game, as Celtics guard Jrue Holiday made minimal contact by slightly wrapping his arm around Hart, Hart dramatically threw his arms up and fell to the ground in an exaggerated manner, hoping to draw a foul.

Despite Hart’s theatrical attempt, the 29-year-old’s flop is unlikely to earn any accolades, especially not from the Academy Awards happening next week.
Luckily for the Celtics and their home crowd at TD Garden in Boston, the officials did not fall for the act, and no fouls were called. The game concluded with the Celtics securing a victory with a score of 118–105.
