Jordan Goodwin, a 26-year-old guard, is moving forward in his professional basketball career.

Shortly after his release from the Los Angeles Lakers, who needed to free up a roster spot for Marcus Smart, the Phoenix Suns have picked up Goodwin from the free agency waivers, according to Shams Charania of ESPN, who reported on Wednesday afternoon.

During his last season with the Lakers, Goodwin contributed an average of 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game over 29 appearances, including five starts, playing a significant role towards the end of the season.

Now part of the Suns, amidst a bustling offseason marked by the Bradley Beal buyout and Kevin Durant trade, Goodwin will be joining a team that includes stars such as Devin Booker and newcomers Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green.

Additionally, Lakers guard Shake Milton was also released as part of the Marcus Smart deal, with this news emerging on July 19.
