James, who currently holds the record as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record to claim the top spot on the scoring list two years prior.
In a game against the New Orleans Pelicans, James marked this historic occasion by sinking a three-pointer in the opening quarter, bringing his total career points, including both the regular season and playoffs, to 50,002.
Following the match, Lakers head coach JJ Redick extended his congratulations to James on this remarkable achievement, playfully teasing him in the process.
“LeBron, congrats on 50,000 points,” Redick humorously remarked during the postgame locker room celebration, eliciting cheers from James’s teammates. “It only took you 22 years.”

While humor was shared, the Lakers have been showing formidable strength on the court. The team has secured seven consecutive victories and won 13 of their last 15 games. With the addition of superstar Luka Doncic, the Lakers have surged from a play-in tournament position to second in the Western Conference standings.
While James may set more records, the focus remains on the team’s performance, suggesting that any personal achievements will remain secondary as long as the Lakers continue their winning ways.
