On a recent Tuesday night at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks faced a defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers. During a break in the game, a promotional contest for fans ended in misfortune for one participant.
In this contest, which involved shooting basketballs to complete a tic-tac-toe game at center court, a fan tragically injured his leg during his first attempt at a layup. It seemed he slipped as he was about to jump, resulting in him collapsing and clutching his knee in agony.
The game’s host, Shamea Morton, who is also known from the 16th season of Real Housewives of Atlanta, found herself in a delicate situation as she quickly realized the severity of the contestant’s injury.
Shortly after the incident, Morton halted the game and declared the other participant the winner, urging him to assist the injured fan. It was certainly an unexpected turn of events, made even more distressing as it was broadcast live during the NBA League Pass coverage of the match.
The match experienced a brief delay while medical personnel helped the injured fan off the court on a stretcher. Everyone is hopeful that the injury is not as severe as it appeared and that the fan will recover swiftly.
