Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Free has unveiled a new edition of its Freebox Ultra. Featuring a sleek design with glowing red hues, this new model is only available for a limited time.

Speculation about a new Free device had been swirling for several days. Indeed, Free had teased its upcoming product in early December through a social media post. A twenty-second video accompanied by the phrases, “Rolling out the red carpet. See you on December 3rd,” fueled various theories and heightened anticipation online.

Free was introducing none other than its collector’s edition Freebox Ultra, now showcased in all its glory. The device was fully revealed today to mark Free’s 25th anniversary, adorned in a mix of red and black tones.

A Unique Design

The latest high-tech gadget stands out primarily for its design. Free chose a transparent box, perfect for viewing the device’s components. The product also includes customizable LEDs, allowing users to adjust the brightness. However, changing the color is not an option.

Heavily influenced by the gaming world, Free offers six lighting modes: static, breathing, rain, wave, organic, and chasing, providing a variety of moods and pleasures.

The box features an inscription “1999-2024, 25 years”, a tribute to Free’s history.

Performance Remains Unchanged

While the design has undergone a transformation, the performance aspects have remained the same. The limited edition has the same specs as the standard Freebox Ultra. Both models offer symmetrical speeds of 8 Gbit/s and are compatible with Wifi 7. They also provide the same services, including Amazon Prime, ad-supported Netflix, ad-supported Disney+, and more.

The pricing remains consistent:

  • Freebox Ultra Essential: €49.99/month or €39.99/month for the first year (includes OQEE and TV channels by Canal+)
  • Freebox Ultra: €59.99/month or €49.99/month for the first year (includes OQEE and TV channels by Canal, Canal+, Netflix, Prime Videos, Universal+, Disney+, and Cafeyn)

Free advises that quantities are limited. The collector’s edition Freebox Ultra will only be available until stock runs out, and the size of the stock remains unknown. If you’re interested in the new Free model, it’s recommended to act quickly to avoid missing out on this offer.
