Despite Melbourne United’s loss in the finals, Dellavedova earned the MVP title for the series. The former Cleveland Cavaliers player, who clinched an NBA championship alongside LeBron James in 2016, faced boos from the crowd when he received the MVP award.
In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, Dellavedova declared that Illawarra Hawks’ guard Will ‘Davo’ Hickey was the true MVP, before handing over his MVP trophy to him.
