In the 2024-25 NBA season, the Miami Heat will pay tribute to one of their most iconic players.

The organization has revealed plans to dedicate a statue to guard Dwyane Wade at the Kaseya Center, set to be revealed on Sunday, October 27 in a grand event. The ceremony will include a performance by the Miami rapper Rick Ross.

Additionally, the Heat will celebrate Dwyane Wade Statue Night on October 28 during their game against the Detroit Pistons. Wade will be present and is scheduled to speak to fans during the halftime break. The night will also feature several video tributes in his honor.

Crafted by Omri Amrany and Oscar Leon from Rotblatt Amrany Studio, the same artists responsible for creating renowned statues like Chicago’s “Michael Jordan Spirit,” the “Black Mamba” statue of Kobe Bryant, and the “Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue,” Wade’s statue will also be made of bronze.

Wade, a celebrated figure in basketball, is a 13-time NBA All-Star, three-time NBA champion, and a Hall of Famer. He spent the majority of his 15-year career with the Miami Heat, only briefly playing for the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to Miami for his final season in 2018-19.

This statue will mark the first time a Miami Heat player has been honored in such a way outside the arena, solidifying Wade’s legacy as a pivotal figure in Miami sports.
