Just two days after his exit from the current season of Dancing With the Stars, Dwight Howard expressed his interest in making a comeback to the NBA, aiming to join the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Previously, Howard played his last NBA game during the 2021-22 season as part of the Los Angeles Lakers. Following that, he moved to play in Taiwan’s T1 League. At 38 years old, Howard is keen on a return to the NBA.

With the Thunder’s primary center, Chet Holmgren, sidelined for eight to ten weeks due to a hip fracture, Howard saw an opportunity to propose himself as a temporary replacement.

Howard, enthusiastic and ready, mentioned on KG Certified, “OKC, your boy is ready. What’s up? You need a big man, a veteran, someone to bring the energy. I’m also free; just finished up with dancing… I’d head to OKC right now… Give me a two-year contract, let me help you win a championship or maybe even two.”

Howard also recalled his 2020 NBA championship win with Alex Caruso, who currently plays for the Thunder. He believes his experience and skills could be beneficial for Oklahoma City, which is among the top contenders for the NBA title this season.

In Holmgren’s absence, the Thunder have been starting Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe, and Jalen Williams in the frontcourt. Williams has been impressive, averaging 20.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.
