In the fourth quarter, tension escalated as Adebayo managed to draw a foul in a controversial play by tossing the ball over his head while struggling to maintain possession. This prompted Sabonis to sarcastically applaud the call, which left commentators puzzled over the decision.

Sabonis ultimately had the last word by securing a rebound over Adebayo and scoring the decisive basket with just 0.7 seconds left on the clock. While Sabonis might have used slight physicality to gain advantage, the referees opted not to call a foul, allowing the play to continue.

Sabonis ended the game with a notable double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds, along with seven assists. On the other end, Adebayo contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and three steals. The teams are set to clash again on January 6th in Sacramento.
