This week marked an exciting beginning to the NBA’s offseason, as Desmond Bane was traded by the Memphis Grizzlies to the Orlando Magic in a deal involving multiple players and draft picks.

Having joined the Magic only recently, Bane has quickly observed significant differences between his new team and his former one.

Previously, Bane had praised the facilities at Orlando, and he elaborated on his impressions during a session with the media on Wednesday. He was particularly struck by the quality of the facilities and the professionalism of the staff.

“It’s a whole different vibe, man. Back in Memphis, our facility didn’t have a single window. We used to call it ‘the dungeon,'” Bane remarked. “Here, it’s like a breath of fresh air. You can actually step outside, enjoy some fresh air, and have a meal on the patio. We’ve got both indoor and outdoor training facilities here, and all the extras you can think of. But, it’s the people here that truly make this place stand out.”

Switching from “the dungeon” to the sunny environment of Florida certainly seems like a fantastic opportunity.

It remains to be seen how well Bane will integrate with the rest of the Magic team in the upcoming season.
