While some NBA players might claim they ignore the scoreboard and avoid watching their rivals’ games as the regular season approaches its climax, focusing solely on their own matches, this is often just a lofty ideal. Ultimately, winning your own games does reduce the need to monitor others’ performances.

However, the truth is that keeping an eye on scores and standings becomes a tactical necessity as the season nears its end.

Ivica Zubac, the center for the Los Angeles Clippers, openly admits to watching a lot of the games, especially those involving teams competing for playoff spots in the Western Conference. He humorously described himself as a “hater” when watching these rivals.

A video clip shared by Joey Linn, who reports on the Clippers for On SI, shows Zubac discussing his viewing habits.

Currently, the Clippers are just one game away from avoiding the play-in tournament. If the season ended today, they would be in an advantageous position as the seventh seed, needing only one win to progress to the playoffs, with a loss still leaving them a chance to qualify. They are 6.5 games ahead of the Phoenix Suns, who occupy the 10th seed and the last play-in spot.

So, Zubac, continue with your hate-watching.
