The Oklahoma City Thunder’s rising stars have seen a significant financial windfall in recent weeks. Since seizing their inaugural NBA championship under the Thunder banner, the team has awarded maximum salary contracts to three of its young talents. Jalen Williams recently inked a five-year deal worth $287 million, joining Chet Holmgren with his five-year, $239 million contract, and league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who secured a four-year agreement totaling $285 million, as reported last Thursday.

Williams playfully reacted to the news of Holmgren’s contract on Wednesday, sharing a lighthearted message on his Instagram story that read: “Dinner on 7!!!”

In response to Williams’ massive contract announcement the following day, Holmgren playfully tossed the responsibility of paying for dinner back to J-Dub.

One might wonder why Gilgeous-Alexander, soon to be the highest-paid NBA player annually, isn’t footing the bill for dinner. However, he did recently treat his teammates to an extravagant set of gift baskets after clinching the league MVP award.

Clearly, when the Thunder players make an appearance at any venue, they bring a hefty financial clout with them.
