The ongoing season will be the last we see of the NBA on TNT for some time, following Turner Sports’ unsuccessful bid to retain the NBA’s broadcast rights in the latest media agreement, set to kick off in the 2025-26 season.

Consequently, this season will also serve as the swan song for the beloved sports show Inside the NBA, featuring the legendary team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Known for his bold antics on television, Charles Barkley remained true to form during a recent broadcast. As the program followed a slate of late-night NBA games, Barkley humorously declared that he and Smith would exit the studio by 1 a.m. ET.

“It’s 12:29 [a.m.],” announced Barkley.

“Oh, we’re leaving here by one,” Smith quickly added.

“We’re out at one o’clock,” Barkley emphasized again.

“And if you don’t come with me…” Smith hinted.

“I’m with you, brother,” Barkley responded with a smile and a fist bump, jokingly adding, “What are they gonna do, fire us?” This prompted laughter from the off-camera crew.

Johnson, Smith, and O’Neal also struggled to hold back their laughter in yet another memorable moment from Inside the NBA. It certainly looks to be an unforgettable final season for the iconic NBA talk show.
