British Sci-Fi Series “Black Mirror” Returns on Netflix

Originally aired on British TV from 2011 to 2014, Black Mirror has been produced by Netflix since 2016. Unique in its structure, each episode runs over 60 minutes and features different plots, casts, and settings, all unified by a central theme: the impact of new technologies on society (the title “Black Mirror” refers to the screens that reflect our image back at us).

The seventh season of Black Mirror, which includes six episodes, premiered on April 10, 2025, on Netflix. While each episode stands alone, fans will see a continuation of the first episode from season 4, USS Callister. The rest of the season promises brand-new content but maintains the essence of the series. Creator Charlie Brooker has hinted at “one of the darkest and most intense episodes to date,” alongside “technically sophisticated episodes and others that are sure to bring tears.”

The Plot of Black Mirror

Each episode of Black Mirror serves as a critique of new technologies, a satirical look at our modern world, and encourages reflection on topics such as the workplace, politics, love, social media, and gaming.
