Blood of Zeus is an American animated series created exclusively for Netflix by Power House Animation Studios. Already known for Castlevania, another successful mythological series on Netflix, Power House Animation Studios now delves into Greek mythology with Blood of Zeus, a saga spanning three seasons.
The first two seasons of the series, conceived by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides (Deathnote, Immortals), premiered on Netflix on October 27, 2020, and May 10, 2024, respectively. Praised by glowing reviews, the American website inverse.com has described the animated series as “the best American anime on Netflix to date.” For many, the series also explores universal themes such as the relationship between anger and power.
The third and final season of Blood of Zeus is also available for streaming on May 8, 2025, and promises a spectacular finale atop Mount Olympus.
What is the Plot of Blood of Zeus?
The life of Heron, a poor villager shunned for being born out of wedlock, changes dramatically the day demons annihilate his village’s inhabitants. Led by Seraphim, these demons are in search of a mysterious map. For Heron, who is actually the son of Zeus and a human woman, this marks the beginning of an epic struggle involving all the major figures of Greek mythology. As a merciless conflict divides Olympus, peace can only be restored after a battle whose outcome is still very uncertain.
