Anthony Edwards sealed the Minnesota Timberwolves’ thrilling 113-112 victory over the Houston Rockets with a crucial play on Friday.

With less than 30 seconds remaining and the Timberwolves down by two, Edwards received the ball. Instead of tying the game with a two-pointer, he opted for a three-pointer, successfully taking the lead and completing an impressive comeback. The Timberwolves had been trailing by 16 points with less than five minutes left in the game.

Following his game-deciding shot, Edwards expressed his thoughts during the live broadcast using strong language as he explained his decision to go for the three-pointer.

“I’m like, s—, I’m going for the win,” Edwards shared with the broadcasters. Echoing Gilbert Arenas, he added, “I don’t do overtime, so f— it.”

Edwards’ post-game comments were particularly noteworthy as they came shortly after he was fined for using similar language in a critique of officiating after a game against the Golden State Warriors the previous Saturday.

Joe Dumars, NBA’s head of basketball operations, announced the fine, stating, “Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $75,000 for public criticism of the officiating and using inappropriate and profane language.”

Despite the recent fine, Edwards was ecstatic about the win against the Rockets, who had a 21-10 record, improving his team’s record to 16-14.

“This was a big win, I’m not gonna lie,” Edwards remarked. “We showed poise, we showed everything tonight. I’m super happy.”
