Steph Curry returned to the basketball court on Monday, having been sidelined for a week, contributing 24 points in 24 minutes during the Golden State Warriors’ 125-112 win against the Washington Wizards. Curry was recovering from an ankle injury he sustained in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 27. In that incident, he seemed to twist his ankle, returned to play briefly, then left the game, and was later found to have a strained left peroneal tendon.

Following the game on Monday, Curry shared insights with the media about the injury, acknowledging a mistake in judgment that resulted in the ankle issue, a recurring problem throughout his illustrious basketball career.
“Having experienced quite a few similar incidents, I usually know if I can continue playing or not,” Curry explained. “This time, I misjudged it because it happened suddenly and I let the adrenaline drive my decision. Fortunately, it was just over a week out and I’m feeling good now.”

“I made a misjudgment on that one because it was right away. Adrenaline got the best of me. But thankfully it was only a little over a week (absence).” pic.twitter.com/5SqynAPMFZ

Much like a heroic figure from ancient myths, Curry’s ankles have consistently been his Achilles’ heel. He endured numerous such injuries early in his career and eventually underwent stabilizing surgeries on both ankles. Another injury scare likely alarmed Warriors fans considerably.
Nevertheless, he appears to be in good health now and has wisely recognized and admitted his error in judgment. Curry is scheduled to play next on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.
