The resentments among Knicks fans towards Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers are still quite palpable, especially after the Pacers’ victory over New York in the Eastern Conference Finals this past summer. This animosity was evident during Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam event at MetLife Stadium, where Haliburton was announced to the audience.

Since the Pacers’ defeat in the NBA Finals against the Thunder in June, Haliburton, who is currently recuperating from Achilles surgery, has been spotted at various sports events. His latest appearance was at the WWE event, where he came to support the wrestlers participating in the stadium spectacle.

As boos rained down from the New York/New Jersey crowd, Haliburton reveled in the moment. He gestured for even louder boos and yelled back, “I love you, too!” effectively having the last laugh over the Knicks for now.

During the Eastern Conference Finals, Haliburton playfully mocked the Knicks and their supporters. The teasing started in Game 1 when he prematurely performed Reggie Miller’s famous choke sign, thinking he had secured a game-winning three-pointer, only for it to tie the game and send it into overtime. Fortunately for Haliburton, the Pacers still clinched the victory.

After this victory, Haliburton and his now-fiancée Jade Jones continued to poke fun at the Knicks both online and in person. The Pacers star even sported a shirt before the game to rile up the Knicks fans, fueling a rivalry that began in that series and has continued into the offseason.
