Draymond Green had publicly committed on his podcast to minimizing his technical fouls for the 2024-25 season. He aimed to keep his technical fouls under ten, and ideally even below eight.

However, Green was not successful in meeting this target, accumulating 13 technical fouls over the course of the season. Although this was an improvement from the 17 technical fouls he had the previous season, it still exceeded his goal of staying below ten.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, Green mentioned that he entered the postseason with the intention to avoid technical fouls. Unfortunately, he ended up receiving them again and humorously expressed relief that the Warriors’ postseason ended early due to a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, as it prevented him from accumulating more technical fouls.

“I’m honestly trying to avoid getting technical fouls now, which is somewhat embarrassing,” Green admitted to Kimmel. “I went into the playoffs thinking, ‘No technicals for me. I’m focused.’ Yet, I received five in just three games. You’re only allowed seven throughout the playoffs. I’m actually glad we got knocked out.”

Despite the early exit being tough to accept, Green continues to watch the playoff games, analyzing them for his podcast. The Warriors had high hopes for the championship especially after acquiring Jimmy Butler mid-season, but the injury to Steph Curry’s hamstring was a significant setback.
