The New York Knicks decisively outplayed the Boston Celtics in the sixth game of their second-round playoff series this past Friday, securing a 4-2 series victory and ousting the defending Celtics from the playoffs.
From the outset, the Knicks showed strong potential, but the Celtics’ prospects took a significant hit when Jayson Tatum suffered a ruptured Achilles in Game 4. Although Boston managed a win in the following game without Tatum, the momentum seemed squarely with New York.
Post-game, held at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis expressed high regard for the Knicks’ fans and graciously acknowledged the Knicks’ impressive victory.
“The enthusiasm from the Knicks fans was incredible tonight and has been all through the playoffs,” remarked Porzingis. “The fans and the city are incredible. There’s a part of me that’s really happy for them. I have nothing but high hopes for them. They are high-caliber players, they have achieved great things, and I wish them continued success.”

Porzingis, who participated for only 11 minutes in Friday’s game, also shared insights into the mysterious illness affecting him throughout the playoffs.
“Right now, my body isn’t responding as it should,” he explained. “There are a lot of unusual things happening, and perhaps what I need most is some rest. Maybe some time in the sun to help balance things out. But it’s certainly a tough time for me.”
Hopefully, he can take the offseason to rest and recuperate. And now that Knicks fans know he supports them, they surely wish him all the best as well.
