Although Curry’s tally of three-point shots was noteworthy, it fell short of breaking the NBA record of 14 three-pointers in a game, which is currently held by Klay Thompson of the Dallas Mavericks, who previously played with the Warriors.
After the game, Curry was questioned about how close he was to surpassing Thompson’s record. He acknowledged that he was conscious of the record, especially after hitting two early three-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Curry candidly shared, “After those first two threes in the fourth quarter, I definitely thought about Klay’s record in Chicago. That was the closest I’ve come with that much time remaining. But then, it was crucial to focus back on winning the game and not compromise our efforts.”
