The 2025 season for the Cleveland Cavaliers has been nothing short of spectacular, featuring a revival of established stars, the rise of unexpected standouts, a frog, a signature theme song, and numerous dramatic moments on the court.

As the season approaches its final stretch with 20 games remaining, the Cavaliers have added another achievement to their list: securing a spot in the playoffs.

The team clinched their postseason berth with a home victory over the Miami Heat, winning 112–107 on Wednesday night. This win not only added to their credentials but also made them the first NBA team to ensure a playoff position this season.

The victory was a well-rounded team effort, which is typical for the Cavaliers who currently hold the best record in the NBA. Star guard Donovan Mitchell led the charge with 26 points. Despite the loss, Heat center Bam Adebayo put up a strong fight, scoring 34 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and distributing five assists.

Following this match, the Cavaliers continued their impressive run, marking their 12th consecutive victory. This streak also placed them in the history books as only the second team to achieve three separate winning streaks of 12 or more games in a single season, a feat previously accomplished by the 2007 Dallas Mavericks. However, it’s notable that the Mavericks are often remembered for their disappointing first-round playoff exit against the Golden State Warriors.

Currently, the Cavaliers lead the Boston Celtics by eight games for the best record in the Eastern Conference and surpass the Oklahoma City Thunder by one game for the top record in the entire league.
