“This will happen again” warns the chilling new Netflix series that portrays a massive cyberattack which claims over 3,000 lives and sends the nation into a spiral of total chaos. The phrase, displayed on screens nationwide, hints at the imminent danger of a recurring threat. The political thriller Zero Day launches on February 20 on Netflix, featuring six episodes crafted from the tense narratives of Eric Newman (Narcos showrunner), Noah Oppenheim (The Maze Runner, Allegiant and Jackie screenwriter), and Michael Schmidt.
While he has previously starred in a platform production (The Irishman by Martin Scorsese), Robert De Niro has never before taken a role in a television series, at least not a fictional one (though he has played himself on TV). Now at 81, De Niro steps into the lead role in this series, joined by an impressive cast including Angela Bassett (What’s Love Got to Do with It, Malcolm X, Black Panther), Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex, Mean Girls), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Fargo), and Connie Britton (American Horror Story, Dirty John).
