Nikola Jokic seems to be modifying his financial commitments. According to a report by BasketNews, the Jokic family has decided to cease their financial backing of KK Joker, the basketball club in his hometown.

The club, based in Sombor, has recently withdrawn from the ABA 2 League and has also forfeited their position in the playoffs. It was Strahinja Jokic, Nikola’s brother, who communicated to the team on January 19th that the family would be pulling their financial support. Following this announcement, the team’s coach also decided to leave.

BasketNews notes that the club was renamed as KK Joker in 2017. Jokic began his basketball journey there when it was known as KK SO Kos. His entire family and his agent, Misko Raznatovic, were deeply involved with the club.

The entire Jokic family took part in managing the club, with his father, Branislav, serving as the president of the team.

Nikola’s brothers, Nemanja and Strahinja, also held significant roles within the club. Nemanja was a member of the board, while Strahinja served as the general director.

The reasons behind the Jokic family’s decision to withdraw their support from the club remain unclear.
